Chubby Trout

As the fine dining director of a chain of luxury hotels, I must say, I am tremendously pleased at our recent visit to Elkhart, particularly The Chubby Trout. Tiffany was our waitress, she left nothing to be needed. In an age of superficiality, and disconnect, I strive to train my employees to engage, connect, read social and body language cues from our guests, as to proactively anticipate their needs. Tiffany did a stupendous job of this last evening, so much so my husband even commented how relaxed and present I, myself, was during our meal. (which never happens) Dinner excelled all expectations - for which I am grateful that the restaurant we originally intended to dine in botched our reservation. Had that not happened, we wouldn't have gotten to experience such a beautiful evening. To the owners of this fine establishment, you have some serious heavy hitters on your team, Tiffany...

Tiffany, thankyou for being attentive, kind, & funny. Some of the best service I've yet received in a restaurant. We will be back for our new friend, & of course that prime mac & carrot cake; what a treat!

We wanted to sit outside on a beautiful night and Chubby Trout had outdoor seating, which was lovely. Our server, Amanda W. welcomed us as we walked to the door and took incredible care of us. Amanda is an absolute gift - extremely attentive yet laid-back enough to know when to interject to ensure we are enjoying ourselves without being obtrusive in the slightest. She was very attuned to our needs, she made terrific suggestions, and had a warm and inviting attitude the entire time.

Coincidentally, we overheard Desiree having to share the sad news to the table next to us that their food all got ruined yet she communicated the situation to the guests with class, humility, and grace. She really did an amazing job of defusing a possible explosive situation and made it look easy too.

My husband brought me here for my birthday. It's a fun, laid back atmosphere. Our waitress, Kiah was kind and friendly.

We drove all the way from Grand Haven, MI to eat here. The food was great and so was the service. Tiffany went out of her way to be sure everything was just right. Well worth the trip!

The experience for our first time was great. There was an issue with the steak being over cooked but it was resolved with a properly cooked great steak. The manager apologized and went above and beyond to make it right. Kiah was a delight and did a great job serving us. We will definitely be back.
