We totally fell upon this restaurant due to a GPS malfunction. We are from NC and didn't even know this place exsisted. Best detour ever! We had the Sushi Roll Lunch special! Totally amazing taste and quality. Also had the Loaded Prime Wedges as an appetizer, 100% recommend! Delicious!!!!

We made a three day trip to Elkhart Indiana. When looking for a place to have a late lunch we located the chubby trout. We each had a pasta dish (smoked prime rib mac and veggie pasta) that were both delicious. After reviewing their menu options, Experiencing the atmosphere and their excellent wait staff, we decided we would return the next day. When we travel we try to explore different food venues every day , however when we find a place that has all of the boxes ticked and at a high-level we sometimes return. We not only returned the next day to try their rolls… yum, yum (Thai veggie, sweet creamy shrimp, spicy tuna, and Cheesy Cali) but we had a to go order (Ahi tuna wrap and SueSue shrimp basket) before leaving Elkhart on our 3rd day returning home. Visit them whenever you are in the area, however it is worth a drive.

This town was a pit stop on our way West. When looking for dinner in a new place we always try to find something local and the Chubby Trout fit the bill. We stopped in at 630 on a Thursday and the place was hopping. Despite a crowded restaurant the staff was on point and the wait for food not too bad. In the end the meal was fantastic and we would love to visit again. I had the shrimp tacos and the other meal pictured was a Louisiana pasta meal. Highly recommend this place!!

Almost 2 years later and I can honestly say that this is my favorite restaurant in the Elkhart area. We come every time we are in town. Keep up the great work.

This place has a little something for everyone. Craft beer and delicious food. We will definitely be back when we come back to Elkhart.

It Was My family’s first time trying chubby trout. Atmosphere was treat, service was phenomenal. Would love to give 5 stars but, because my steak was over cooked twice I gave 4 stars. the sweetest manager was super nice and understanding and all I asked is just not to have to pay for the steak and she went ahead and took that off our bill. Everything else we got to eat and try was delicious. Our waitress, Syna,was amazing to us and patient with my talkative 5 year old who wanted to talk her to ear off. I am looking forward to trying again and trying a different entree.

I LOVE Chubby Trout because they make great food. Their owner(s) and chefs know what they’re doing in the kitchen. The menu has a lot to choose from. The food is great quality! I’ve eaten a variety of things from sue, sue shrimp, to sushi, to smoked prime rib sandwiches, to fish and cheeseburgers. They have nightly specials that are amazing, too. I’m definitely a fan and will continue to be a regular. This restaurant is one of only a few in all of northern Indiana that really stands out for such delicious food every time I eat there.

I got the lemon blueberry mojito and three different sushi rolls. All were fantastic! Love the atmosphere, music, and decor! My boyfriend and I are definitely making Chubby Trout our date night spot. 🤌🏼💚
