We love coming here for the atmosphere, the great sushi, and the excellent service. Tanner was our server this visit, and he was great. Very attentive, quick, and helpful.

Everything about our visit was great here. We were traveling through and stopped so it's convenient because it was pretty much right off the highway and it was listed #1 restaurant in Elkhart.

We got ahi tacos and a perch fish fry and everything was excellent including the service. Would highly recommend.

Came here to say that it was worth the 1hr plus drive to enjoy some of this amazing food and drink , Amy K was our waitress ,she was exceptional! She made our first visit very special! We definitely will be back

Our server Tiffany was so sweet she got all of our food and drinks out super fast . She was really helpful navigating the menu because it was our first time here and had amazing suggestions. The food was amazing and she suggested the mushrooms sauce which made it a 10/10 date night place .

We walked here from our hotel in Elkhart and were drawn in by the number of cars in the parking lot. Excellent service from the start and the menu had so many excellent and healthy choices it was hard to decide what to eat. We’ve been eating out a lot during our lengthy cross country trek. The name is so cute I almost got the t-shirt as a keepsake! My hubby ordered the smoked rib eye after Tanner, our waiter highly recommended it. It was absolutely perfect. I had the vegetarian pasta dish and it was loaded with mushrooms, peppers and garlic and olive oil. Heavenly. We will be back to Elkhart and will definitely be back!

My husband and I were in the South Bend area for a program at Notre Dame when several locals told us we had to try Chubby Trout, saying it was the best sushi around. They were absolutely right.

We’ve had sushi in many places—across different states and even around the world—and Chubby Trout genuinely impressed us. The fish was incredibly fresh, the presentation was beautiful, and every bite was outstanding.

We ordered the Sushi Boat for Two, and it was not only delicious but an excellent value for the amount and quality of food. The restaurant was spotless, the staff was friendly and welcoming, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations.

10 out of 10. If you’re anywhere near Elkhart or South Bend, I highly recommend making the trip to Chubby Trout. We’ll definitely be back!

We stopped here after a long day on the road - and we showed up late due to travel. The team was so kind - especially Alicia - our server! They quickly grabbed a bowl of water for our pup and fawned all over him. We had drinks and entrees - the food was great, quick and delicious!
