I had cubital carpal and middle trigger finger in my right dominant hand Friday 11/22/24. Incisions are healing nicely, no pain, but trigger finger is taking the longest to release the inflammation, feeling a slight popping of tendon, and now second digit will not straighten all the way at 12 days. Dr Jurbala explained this, drew a picture on my finger before the procedure, so I’m not shocked. Hoping once all inflammation subsides, the finger will straighten out. I was able to drive 6 hours home after the procedure, and that may have been the best thing I could have done. I kept my wrist /hand balanced on top of the steering wheel most of the time, and continually moved hand into fist, stretch, fist during this time. This kept sweeping at bay. Swelling began morning of day two, as I tried to keep arm elevated above the heart while sleeping. Some of sterile strips came off when I removed Bandaids day 3, so I continued to wear bandaids and a hand sleeve while outside the house (actually got on a plane to visit family for thanksgiving). Sterile strips came off day 5, no weeping of incisions. By day 8/9 incisions appeared closed but continued to play it safe. Day 11 no bandaids but I will cover up once again on my return flight home Tuesday Dec 3(day 13) I can do most things with right hand, just careful to use a knife to cut turkey, carrots, etc or hold a coffee mug. Extremely satisfied with the knowledge presented before procedure, and the quick recovery time period. I am a professional marine canvas and upholsterer. So having hand strength is vital. The ability to not have external stitches was the deciding factor for me, as I could have had an “open” procedure locally and covered by insurance. I Can’t wait to start working with the stress balls this Friday two weeks out! Highly recommend dr Jurbala and staff. They were great!
