Dr. Jurbala I really believe God guided me to this awesome practice. After months of being awakened through the night with tingling and sharp pain in my hands, I had a nerve study prescribed by my hand Doctor. On a Monday, I received the report which showed I had severe carpal tunnel (wrist) and cubital tunnel (elbow) issues. Traditional surgeries would require 6 months to a year to complete and recuperation would be long and tiresome. I Googled 'Advanced techniques in carpal tunnel procedures' and immediately found Highland Center for Orthopaedics and 'Carpal Tunnel Express.' I read the glowing testimonials of the ease of the procedures and that many patients were back to work in 3 to 5 days. I was blessed to find that a friend, who was now a Physicians' Assistant, had previously worked with Dr. Jurbala for 2 1/2 years. He totally convinced me this was, by far, the best way for me to proceed. Tuesday, I called the office and was scheduled for Thursday at 9:30 AM. When I arrived, the staff were very friendly and I soon found myself in an 'operating room,' totally at ease, sitting in a big, comfortable, leather recliner. Soon, Dr. Jurbala began his ultrasound examinations. The images and his explanations were so clear even I could see the areas where my nerves were compressed. We decided to address all four areas that day with no need for general anesthesia. The local anesthesia was very painlessly administered and he began. I was wide awake and felt no pain as he made the small incisions and freed the nerves of my elbows and wrists from the tissues constricting them. Each procedure took 6-8 minutes total from knife to closure. I left the office at 3:30 PM feeling great with small bandages on my four 'wounds.' Gradually, the anesthesia began to wear off and some pain began to develop in my hands which never required more than Tylenol or, possibly, a Tramadol. After about four days, neither was really necessary. There was never any definitive pain in my elbows. I was able to sleep through the entire first night without being constantly awakened by the previous tingling and pain in my hands and fingers. It is now Wednesday, Day 7, and I am nearly totally pain free and have only small bandaids on each incision. I am amazed and thrilled with everything I have experienced.
