This was my second experience having this express procedure done with Carpal Tunnel Express and, once again, I had a great experience with them and would highly recommend them to anyone suffering from carpal tunnel pain.
For the record, this is my second surgery of the same hand, having had a standard carpal carpal tunnel release surgery about 6 years ago in Arizona with a one and a half inch scar on hand/wrist area to prove it.
I had my express procedure done 5 days ago and already everything is 100% better. I went in with major pain, including shock-like lightening pain shooting through my hand and wrist making me drop whatever was in my hand, numbness, tingling, burning sensation, etc and was looking forward to getting the numbing shot just so I could get some relief after going through this pain for months. Not only did I finally get the relief I was hoping for, but I also got the most comfortable lazy-chair in the world to recline in while Dr Jurbala did the procedure, as well as the best team ever. These people are extremely caring, polite, best bed-side manner I’ve seen in years. And it wasn’t a one-off either. They were like that when I went a couple of years ago for my left hand as well. It’s really a great feeling to not be treated like a number or a dollar sign, nor to feel like they have a quota to meet and rush you through. They took time for my questions and made me feel comfortable with their knowledge and experience.
So today is my fifth day after surgery, and although it might not be like this for every one, I can tell you, after following all instructions to a “t”, doing the hand exercises recommended, etc I am gaining my strength back faster than I expected. I have no more shooting pains, no numbness, no tingling, and am looking forward to building back my strength gradually so I can get back to my regular activities. The surgery itself has left me with a small incision that looks like a little puncture wound that is already healing and doesn’t even look like I had surgery. It is actually less than a quarter of the length of the prior Arizona surgery.
If you or a loved one have carpal tunnel pain, forget about the old-fashioned carpal tunnel release and give this team a try. I can guarantee you, no matter what the cost or the distance, I would never go back to having the old procedure and be stuck for weeks post surgery of not being able to do anything and having to baby my hand while it recovers. If you’re on the fence about having this done, stop torturing yourself...you won’t regret it. Thanks to Dr Jurbala and his team, I am pain free today :-)
