On Wednesday January 8th I arrived at the facility around 9:15am for my evaluation appointment at 9:30am. After waiting about an hour and a half I was brought back to finish paperwork and undergo a verbal analysis on my right hand symptoms.
I returned to the waiting room for another 1/2 hour at which time I was led to the small surgery room and seated in a comfortable recliner. The nurse was efficient and friendly. She marked my ring and middle finger for identification and informed me the doctor was nearly finished with his prior surgery and would be in shortly.
About 1/2 hour later the surgeon came into the room, introduced himself and explained the physical evaluation as it was preformed. Diagnosis carpal tunnel syndrome and trigger fingers. After explaining the surgery procedure throughly my wrist and fingers were numbed with a local anesthetic. It was indicated to me that this numbing process would take about 1/2 hour, at which time the surgeon Dr. Jurbals would return and proceed with the the surgery.
During the surgery I felt some minor pain in my wrist. After the procedure the incisions were bandaged and I was given post op instructions.
Upon checkout I was given 2 Tylenol and 2 Aleive tablets for pain along with Prescriptions for 1 day of antibiotics and narcotic pain med to use if needed.
The whole process took a bit longer than I expected but everything went well.
It is now one week since my surgery and I am on the mend. I am however experiencing the trigger finger snap in my right middle finger. Hoping it stops when the swelling goes down and with some minor therapy. Recovery is going to be a bit of a process due to stiffness and pain in the palm, fingers and wrist but that is expected. Looking forward to a full recovery in the next few weeks.
All in all a good experience and would recommend Carpal Tunnel Express to anyone suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome and of trigger finger.
