Bambini Granville

As first time parents the transition to daycare was daunting. We were filled with so many questions, and had so much anxiety about how our little one would adjust to her new normal. To add to our anxiety, we were transitioning our child during a pandemic!

We discovered Bambini only days before our daughter was scheduled to start at another facility. We were getting bad vibes and were frustrated with the lack of organization and communication from the director at the facility we had planned for our daughter to attend. So, last minute we were referred to Bambini by friends of ours who teach a course on Respectful Parenting. Our friends told us of Bambini’s beautiful new facility in Granville and boasted about all the program had to offer. I immediately contacted the director and placed a deposit before even receiving a tour. I was confident at that point from everything I had heard that we had found the perfect fit for our family. We secured the last spot available for our daughters class and I am beyond thankful for that everyday.

Bambini Granville is one of the most beautiful childcare facilities I have seen. From the moment you walk through the door you feel at home. The warm tones and textures are visually appealing to adults, and for young children is a calm, welcoming and inviting space. Every inch of their space was designed with so much intention to draw children in, and invite them to experience new things that are accessible to them. You will find in each class custom lockers designed for the age appropriate height, attached bathrooms with the same intention of accessibility, and hand crafted tables and chairs that were made to fit your child’s body for the stage they are at. In the toddler rooms there are sinks for the kids to use at their own height to wash at before snack. Although many moms may think of the mess that may lead to, Bambini saw an opportunity to engage our children and teach a valuable lesson. My daughter is 15 months and knows that she must line up to wash her hands before snack, at the sink she can reach.

Similarly to Bambini’s structural design and intention, the toys in each class were also selected with purpose. You will not find cluttered rooms with plastic toys that light up and make sounds. Instead, you will find the products of companies like Coco Village, Tender Leaf, Melissa & Doug and so many other beautifully crafted and high quality wooden toys. As a parent that appreciates quality and unique products I was excited to see many similar items we have at home in my daughters classroom. I think this also helped ease the transition and made her feel more at home. Products like these do not over stimulate and truly encourage children to use their imagination.

At this facility you will not have to worry about packing a snack or lunches. This in itself is a huge life saver. That being said, Bambini offers a very unique menu for both summer and winter seasons. Each seasonal menu covers 4 weeks filled with different snacks and meals for everyday. During the winter months the meals are hearty and warm, and the summer light and refreshing. All the meals are balanced and healthy and made from scratch by a chef that is on staff full-time.

All of these aspects alone made our decision clear cut, but one that sealed the deal was the app that was available to us once we started our care. Once your child is enrolled you are given access to an app in which updates you with your child’s daily progress. This includes every diaper change and what type of change it was, every snack and meal - both what they were served and how much they ate, naps - indicating the duration, photos taken of your child at play, and a message board for you to communicate directly with both your classroom teachers and the facility director.

I have nothing but amazing things to share! I will say this - transitions are different for each family and Bambini was very accommodating to all of my requests. We signed our contract and we’re told “welcome to the family” and that couldn’t have been more true.
