We had a hot water leak that we heard and got an appointment with American Leak Detection for the following Monday. Rob with his technician in training Justin showed up on time and Rob pin pointed the leak for Justin after some teaching moments. Rob could fix the leak for $750 but advised that if it were him he would not do the repair because I would have to tear up the flooring and could be chasing leaks for ever. Rob used our home to show Justin various equipment and in so doing gave me a good understanding of where all the pipes were in the house. Rob gave us excellent advice and estimates of cost that contractors should charge. His advice and strategy for getting bids from plumbing contractors ended up saving us thousands of dollars. Absolutely the most knowledgeable and helpful service I have here in SW Fla. Service Rep, JT Lindsley,easily found leak but went above and beyond but set pool to run while main water supply is off and even helped me fill water jugs while water supply remain shutoff. Not impressed. Paid $350 for them to supposedly find the leak, no repairs available from them for our issue. So we hire someone else. Then the original leak reappears, when we call back, we are told it'll be $175/hour to retest the area because we must have a second leak...ummmm...no. Where did customer service, or any good faith guarantee go? This was all within 30 days. I'd look elsewhere. Read more >

From setting up the appointment to interacting with the professional on site, the whole process was excellent!
Blade came out to our home and quickly identified a leak behind the tub in the guest bath. He showed me the view on the camera he had snakes behind the wall through the shower nozzle. Upon permission, he cut away a square in the wall to expose the leak.
Blade was absolutely outstanding and extremely professional. Great attitude, friendly, great appearance, and thorough.
I would HIGHLY recommend American Leak Detection and consider yourself EXTRA fortunate if you have Blade show up to your home!

What should have been a simple job for these "experts", became a fiasco that ended up damaging my home and billed me full price even though no leak was detected or repaired. I ended up finding and repairing the leak myself, but not before the technician cut 3 unnecessary holes in my dining room wall, looking for something that wasn't there. I highly recommend this company. When I called to schedule service for an underground leak I was told that Rob was the best. They are right. I followed Rob as he searched for the leak and was very impressed with his knowledge, thought process and approach to the issue. It was an extremely difficult issue to diagnose due to it being an older home and because of a prior contractor who screwed some things up. Rob wouldn't give up. I was given a time frame of only 2 hours and D.J. called me 45 min before the beginning of the time frame to let me know he wouldn't be there until 45 min into the start of the time frame.
