Amarillo Medical Lodge

I found Medical Lodge for my brother after he was hospitalized a couple of times following a major shoulder surgery. I give Medical lodge 5 stars for several reasons. The administrative staff were responsive to my concerns and questions. The nursing staff gave my brother attention not only in skilled medical treatment for his particular condition but also listened to him when he expressed needs. In the health community today, many places overwork and underpay health workers and it shows in their treatment of patients. I did not see that happening at Medical Lodge. The staff treated my brother (a Medicaid patient) with warmth and respect. He said the food was good, the room remained clean, and therapy helped him reach goals. After my brother was discharged, he had an appointment with his primary care physician and she and the nursing staff commented that he looked better than he has in a couple of years. He is now home living independently with home health care. I highly recommend Medical Lodge to serve as a transition facility from hospital to home.
