This "kennel" deserves 10+ stars! When I was first looking for a kennel for my amazing, neurotic Aussie dog, I went to almost every kennel in SD County (literally - my file was almost an inch thick). Some kennels had great facilities but the staff couldn't care less; some kennels had great staff but filthy facilities. Alcala has an AMAZING staff and Excellent facilities. They even helped my Aussie transition from a stress-aggressive dog to being able to have other dogs in his kennel run with him! Now I have a cat and Alcala again outshines any other kennel in SD County! My rescue cat supposedly couldn't be with other cats, but she's fine outside her "suite" with other cats. Alcala's staff is DEDICATED, CARING, Honest and Trustworthy! I wouldn't kennel my pets anywhere else in SD County and if I ever move out of SD County...well, depending...it's worth the drive to... I worked at Alcala for over 3 years and am being honest when I say they really do take great care of the dog's & cats. A very loving atmosphere. Whenever we go back to California to visit I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to leave our little dog there.

Amazed no one has written a review in a while. I have two cats and both have stayed at separate intervals with Alcala. I checked out each of the staff during the visit and I felt comfortable and assured that my cats would have an eventful stay with this facility. Each of the staff valued my cats and understood my expectations as well as what I understood what they provided. The place is quiet and clean and my rambunctious teddy was actually more calm after his stay there. This is now my goto place when my cats need a vacation!

I did visit a couple other facilities before deciding upon this one. In comparison, Alcala Pet Care was a steep notch above the others.

I am so happy I found Alcala. I have been taking my dog Jack there for over a year to be groomed and Alison always does a great job. The facility is beautiful ... I always get a kick out of their seasonal decorations! I highly recommend them for your grooming needs. They also board dogs.
