We needed to find a second home in the Rochester MN area. We have purchased several homes, but none in the electronic era. Alex was highly recommended by mutual acquaintances. When I first contacted him, I received the first of many prompt responses. Since we were from out of town, most of our communication was via text or phone call. He set my wife & I up w an accurate home search app & a Zoom call to explain the rules & process of becoming a Buyer's Agent as well as his credentials as Best Real Estate Agent in Rochester MN for multiple years. We discussed our situation, timing, etc. He explained how he works & patiently answered our questions.
Alex first put us in contact w Jesse Vollmer at Prime Source Funding (a loan broker) to get pre-qualified & eventually to get a mortgage.
We used the app to find candidate houses & Alex set up one long day of visits to be sensitive to my travel needs, including setting up appointments on the fly and for houses outside of Rochester. Alex & I drove separately & I began to learn my way around. We did break for meals (he has suggestions), his other business needs, & so I could meet his lovely dogs (they are "House Trained!"). I knew I'd found a house when Alex opened the door & said "Oh, this is nice". Alex coached me through a successful offer appropriate to the house & market, beating out 3 other offers.
He arranged for inspection & radon testing so we could be there (shout out to Troy Baker at River's Edge Home Inspection). My wife saw the house for the first time at the inspection & Alex spent patient time w her in her weakened state to be sure she saw things & got her questions answered. He also took time so our dogs & his could frolic at the dog park while he continued to build a relationship w us.
Alex managed the satisfaction of the inspection issues w the seller. He arranged for Rochester Title to do the closing. In fact, we felt secure through the whole process in that Alex kept everyone involved (including, it seemed, the seller's side) moving toward closing date.
We highly recommend Alex if you are looking to buy a house in the Rochester MN area. Listen to his advice; he will hear you, act in your best interest, & minimize the stress of your real estate transaction. You will get a lot of prompt texts w answers (& hopefull emojis), he'll lead you through the process, & you'll end up w a good house for you.
