Caution-- Dr. Jacobs and Assoc. have ownership interests in NRIP Katy as well as Park 10 Surgical Center. You will be given an ABI test (Ankle Brachial Index), in my case both ankle indexes were above 1.4 . Jacobs told me that I was at risk and quickly handed me a brochure for NRIP and told me that I needed to get further testing prior to being cleared for surgery. That was interesting because according to Johns Hopkins Hospital: "If the ABI is less than 0.9, it may mean that a person is at risk for peripheral artery disease".
This was confirmed by an orthopedic surgeon who did a through exam of my feet and explained that i needed a much more complex surgery due to skeletal problems which the podiatrist did not detect despite viewing similar x-rays.
Very disappointing, it appears to me that this clinic is playing the 'let's maximize the insurance payments'...
