Wilmington Preschool of the Arts

My 5yr old has been with the preschool for over 2yrs now and absolutely LOVES it. The teachers and staff are amazing! My son comes home learning new things every day! The classrooms are well maintained and clean and every child is on a routine. Every teacher knows EVERY child and parent regardless if the child is in their class or not. I could go on and on about how much we LOVE this preschool. My daughter attended Wilmington Preschool of Arts from two years old till she graduated to Kindergarten. She was wonderfully prepared for kindergarten academically. More than academics, she learned to love learning. The creative and nurturing environment at WPFA is unlike any other I have ever seen. Music, movement, art, and creativity is a part of every aspect. I absolutely love everything about Wilmington Preschool of the Arts. Our experience has been fantastic. They have the best curriculum and most importantly the most loving and caring teachers. Teachers really care about the children, get to know them very well personally and work with them individually on whatever they might need help. In our case it has been potty-training. My daughter's vocabulary has improved tremendously since she started the program. My husband and I are both teachers and we are bilingual but our daughter made a lot more progress at school than she did with us. She has also developed great appreciation for music and art in general. They have a very cozy and clean facility. No matter how busy they are, they always welcome you with a smile. My daughter has attended Wilmington Preschool of the Arts since she was 18 months old (2010). She just turned five and I can count on one hand the days she 'didn't' want to go to school. There are several teachers who have been there the entire time she has attended, as well as students. Never have I had a problem, or disagreement over her care. Some of the great things about WPA; 1. They have small classes.
2. They have access to the ballet studio next door for indoor playtime, music, movement, etc. 3. The playground is surrounded by a 6-foot privacy fence.
4. Every school room is inviting, has several stations of discovery/learning/play.
5. I have seen them continuously add/update/rotate toys, books, and materials.
6. The day is structured with periods of age appropriate lessons.

We love Wilmington Preschool of the Arts!!! My daughter adores all of the teachers and has absolutely blossomed under their care. They are incredibly supportive of her needs and are accommodating to my parenting style (Attachment Parenting). I love that they don't have a "one size fits all kids" philosophy of teaching. The staff is warm, funny, and amazing with the kids. I often find myself chatting with them as I would friends and family. If you're looking for a stuffy day care filled with toddlers with giant bows on their heads and wearing their Sunday best, this is not the school for you. If you want your kid to be happy, inspired, and educated- then this IS the place.

Both of my granddaughters have attended the Wilmington preschool of the Arts and have had wonderful experiences! Due to the small setting the girls received a lot of attention. All of the teachers bring something special to the school and it was because of this that the girls thrived! My oldest granddaughter left the school to start Kindergarten and was more than ready! She transitioned beautiful and continues to do well in school! My youngest is still enrolled and loves it!

The staff are great babysitters too !!

Our family absolutely loves Wilmington Preschool of the Fine Arts!!! We have a four-year-old little girl that has been attending for two years this month. The staff is 100% like family!! My daughter even called her teacher "auntie"!! They go out of their way to make sure she feels at home. Each day my little one surprises me with the new things she has learned. She is always singing a new song or a song that has taught her months, colors of the rainbow, etc!! I love they do art and music daily!! The Environment, the curriculum and activities are well worth every penny!! One major thing I love is that they clean every inch of the school each day. I asked my little one what she enjoyed most about her school and she said, "art time and the bouncy house when it rains!!!" I recommend Wilmington preschool the fine arts to everybody!!! Read more >
