I really wanted to support an in state nursery. I tried multiple orders. Spice bush struggled to bud and could not generate enough energy to survive and Carolina Allspice never did anything. They never shipped the blueberries. And out of the 100's of dollars we spent the only survivor was a poorly shaped and odd looking red twig. It may well survive the winter. The majority of the bare roots did not come up. The last order was nothing but dead bare roots. The puzzling part was that this order was done in the summer. There were desiccated leaves above the bare roots. Anyways I tried several orders. Had much better luck with other vendors and will not be using them again.
To be clear total spent was about 300 dollars. I am not trying to get a refund. Probably more of a pain than it is worth.
TN Nursery Replied:
We are a family-owned nursery. Only 1 to 3% of plants planted below the surface will come up the same year planted. We can file a warranty claim in the spring for the plants that do not come up. We have to give the plants ample time.
