The Goddard School, Sparks

Both of my children attend and I am very pleased with Goddard. My daughter is extremely shy and resistant to change, but her teachers have been amazingly patient and have really helped her blossom into a more confident, outgoing child. My son is extremely attached to me and will have only benefited from socializing without mommy a little each day. We are also new to the state with no family nearby, and Goddard's "Parents' Night Out" has helped us have at least one evening to ourselves each month without the stress of finding a babysitter. So while it is more expensive than other places, it has been very worth it for us. I know my children are being cared for lovingly and I feel confident that they are happy there.

My son Christopher has been attending the Goddard School in Sparks since he was 8 months old. He is now getting ready to graduate from their Kindergarten Program. He recently took the WCSD First Grade Evaluation Exam in which he scored extremely high. The evaluator said to me that he was already at or above First Grade level. Thanks to John, Jody, Nikki, Anna, and all of their teachers and staff doing such a great job educating him.

My daughter has done so well at this preschool. I have something to compare this school to since my older child attended a different pre-school (which I liked, but this one is better). Now, my daughter is starting kindergarten in August 2015 at a public school and I feel like she is prepared, socially and academically. The staff are nice. They do so will with her little quirky ways and make you feel at home when dropping off, etc. In general, it is a nice school. There are so many small things that make it wonderful - from hands-on activities, art, computer time, use of the interactive board and, of course, reading books! Thank you Goddard family.

My son has attended Goddard in Sparks since he was 1 ½ and has now been there for nearly 3 years. Needless to say I have been pleased with the program, the teachers, the kids, and the development my son has made over the period. I have reviewed many programs in Reno/Sparks and continue comparing but, what I have found in my travels is that Goddard is ultra clean, safe, warm hearted, friendly environment for my son to grow and learn/discover something new about the world around him. He has blossomed socially and loves his teachers. The curriculum is vast ranging from introduction to Spanish, to experiencing productive peer interaction, to experimenting with smart boards and instruction to keep him engaged. We recently enrolled our child in the schools Pre-K program and have not been disappointed. Miss Tara and Mr Caleb are an amazing team of teachers, so extremely patient with my little one. I wish we would of enrolled him at a younger age. The place we came from basically had babysitters not teachers with degrees. The school is fresh and clean, with up to date learning tools and play equipment.
Our child is on the waiting list for next falls full day Kindergarten program. They just finished purchasing another promethan (sp) board for their preK class just like the one in Kindergarten. This board is an incredible learning tool for the students and extremely helpful for the teachers. Check out the school if you can, we love it!!!!

What an amazing preschool!!!! I really never thought I would be saying something like that because our daughter had a nanny for over two years and before her nanny we had a horrible experience with a daycare.

My daughter is in Miss Melisa's and Miss Mona's classroom (2.5 yr olds) and she is loving it! Both Melisa and Mona are wonderful. They are great with the kids and they have really helped make our transition to preschool easy and a positive experience. Not only are the teachers great but the owners and directors are as well. On my daughter's first day there, I was a wreck (crying) and Miss Mona made sure to call me at nap time and tell me how well my daughter was doing. Shauna (education director) even emailed me an update of what the kids were doing and sent me a picture of my daughter. It's little things like that that set this preschool apart.

Finding the perfect daycare for children is one of the most daunting tasks as a new parent. You want to find a facility that will be the best substitute for you and your spouse. You want teachers who will nurture and care for your children, who will teach and learn from your children. After visiting several daycare centers, I knew Goddard was the right place for us. I have had both of my children enrolled at the school since they were 14 months old. It is amazing to see the countless hours of dedication reflected in my children, from sign language to Spanish, yoga and cognitive skills. They have even initiated potty training (thank you Miss Melisa), and we all know how difficult that can be, when our daughter demonstrated signs that she was ready. The ONLY place for my family. I do not agree with any of these people are who are leaving unjust comments. I think they are unfair and untrue and I think people should think twice before they print words that can ruin reputations and businesses. Though I never write reviews, I feel it is important to do so here. I have had three children at the Goddard School in the past FIVE years! After trying two other centers in the Sparks area, my oldest daughter (now nearly eight) began attending Goddard when she was three years of age. We are now one of the most "senior" families there and therefore I believe I have credibility in my feedback. The owners are extremely caring and kind, they are at the school all time to ensure quality and consistency.
