I began seeing DocWanni at age 26 after struggling with ongoing GERD. Before I began working with San Diego Naturopathic, I had seen the last ten years of my life -- from age 16 to age 26 -- limited and dampened by a constantly growing list of health issues, from mental & mood issues, chronic fatigue, frequent intense sickness, and widespread pain to hormonal disregulation, blood sugar problems, intense acne, and multiple surgeries. I could barely think straight because my brain fog was so intense, and I struggled to get even the smallest things done. I relied on caffeine to get through the day — usually three cups of coffee daily. Most recently, I’d had an emergency gallbladder removal surgery at 25 and was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome not long after. I started my plan with Dr.Wannigman in August of 2025 in support of my wife who had some sleep issues. At the time I did not believe I needed attention also. I had an ongoing sinus problem I had for years, just accepted that it was never going change. Not only has that problem gone away, but I have also not been to my regular doctor or urgent care once since we started. In every other year, Kaiser has me in urgent care for sinus infection at least twice per year. The Program is excellent if you follow the process. But you need to be honest with yourself and the team. Your body and the labs that are done tell the tale of your journey. There will be times weight loss slows down, but inches go away. Track your progress. It helps to see how you are doing. Once your gut health improves you will find some things you used to eat will not agree with you.

I have been doing Functional Medicine since 2007. Well back then they didn't call it that. One of the main reasons I chose Dr. Wannigman he ia a Pharmacist first! He has a better understanding of prescription meds and their effects. What he and his team have done for me is something that I thought was not possible. I have Hashimoto's ( thyroid ) and Type 2 Diabetes, losing weight was so hard but keeping it off even harder. Several years ago I started a weight loss program and it really help.
