North Carolina Boys Academy

Our son was the very first NCBA intake on September 20, 2014.

The year prior to his enrollment, the trajectory of his life pointed in a direction that wouldn't likely end well. At best, he'd have been spared the effect of wayward thinking and lifestyle but never reach his full potential. The decision to upend all he knew and send him to NCBA was for us both excruciatingly painful as it was God's perfect solution. It came with no guarantees of a happily ever after ending, the restoration of all that'd been damaged in the parent-child relationship. But it did come with complete assurance of God's faithfulness to use the 15 months for our good and His glory.

Entering NCBA as an incredibly angry and conflicted young man, our son surrendered and made a decision to accept Jesus as His Savior in the 13th month and gave public testimony to that during a morning... Read more >

We sent our Son to NCBA when he was 15 due to rebellion and many other issues. Our home life and our marriage relationship was chaotic and broken. We still had five other children living at home and everyone was walking on egg shells. We realized that if we did not take quick action, our son was going to be dead or in jail and our marriage possibly irreconcilable. Not to mention continuing to do damage to the emotional well-being of our other kids in the home. Making this decision was one of the hardest things that we have ever done as parents but it is probably the very best thing that we have ever done. While at NCBA, he learned self-discipline, boundaries and consequences, He learned to serve others rather than just himself. He learned to do hard things and overcome rather than quit. The North Carolina Boys Academy has been a TREMENDOUS blessing to our family. In the 2015-2016 time frame, our family was in chaos with an out of control child. We knew we had to do something to help him, but did not know where to turn. One of the pastors at our church mentioned NCBA and suggested that we reach out to them and set up an appointment to visit. We felt the peace of God the moment we entered the gates at NCBA, and knew at that moment that God had intervened on our behalf. During the time our child was at NCBA, Pastor John and Deralyn genuinely loved him and only wanted the best for him, and all the boys. Of upmost importance to us, the gospel of Jesus was taught and demonstrated to these boys daily. Almost 5 years ago, NCBA with its tireless staff, were answered prayer for my family. Recognizing that we could not continue to do the same things and expect different results, my husband and I sought where our son would best be served during this difficult time in all our lives. NCBA’s program is a loving Christ-centered environment for the boys during a challenging time of life. While standing in the gap for the families, NCBA staff offers support, encouragement and godly wisdom for the family while walking through the present trial and any to come.
