MARINA GRILL

Nice place. However service was not very good. We had multiple servers who didnt communicate with each other. When you order a $12 burger with $3 bacon it should have bacon on it -nope. Asked for ketchup and mustard with the order- nope. Drink refill only happened after we talked to the manager who tried to explain the staff was new. The food was good but service was not.

Great food, service, prices, and atmosphere.

I was a huge fan of blackfin (loved he food, menu and environment), so I was sad to see it switch over to Marina Grill. However, I was excited to see the menu and what this new resturaunt had to offer. Today, I am disappointed. Their menu is small and misleading. We tried the poutine supreme, which sounded great and was to be “loaded” with toppings- this could not be more wrong. I counted all of 10 black beans, 3 small cubes of avocado and 4 jalapeños. We also tried the crab dip which claimed to have lumps of crabmeat.... the crab dip was completely smooth in consistency, and greasy. Not impressed and highly disappointed. So sad to say that the only reason I will return will be to have a cocktail and watch the view.

I must have gone on a bad day or something. The food was not good and the prices were high for what you got. I had the Cubano sandwich and the pulled pork tasted bland and kind of stale. The fries were cold and clearly started out as frozen bag fries yet cost $12 My dining partner had the fish and chips--ok, but mediocre. Lots of nasty fries but only a small cylinder of fish. The food was really only two stars, but the service was quite good so bumped to three stars. For the limited menu, the food should be much better. Blackfin (the prior restaurant in this location) had a much larger menu but still managed to have very good food. Probably an OK place to sit outside and have drinks though.

I’ve been here 3 times and the first time was the only time service and food was great. My first visit I was told they had PPD lunch specials (which was fantastic as I work at PPD), so I ordered the special and it was delicious. Went back last Thursday in hopes to get the chicken salad sandwich which I got the first time only to be told it was a Blackfin item (I ordered the item when under Marina Grill the first time) and there were no PPD specials. I ordered anyway and the food was decent. Went in today for lunch to find there was no chef’s special as indicated on the lunch special card and asked the waitress what the green chili was in the crab dip only to get the response of, “what do you mean?” I ended up ordering the country ham and hush puppies only to be disappointed by the hush puppies having no flavor and the ham looked like deli ham from the local grocery store. Went to enjoy the warm weather and loved being able to eat outside on the river. Great NC beer selection and good food. Will definitely be back
