Idahome Solar

I was not initially interested in getting solar panels on my home. My biggest concern was how it would look. Our Idahome Solar representative Blake Holmes took plenty of time answering all of our questions and helped us understand how everything would work. He was also very willing to set up the panels for minimal visibility. The install the was prompt, quick and respectful, even with my kids. The panels are not very noticable where they have been placed.

Had an appointment set for 6/1/2022 @ 4pm, the guy showed up on time which is great. He seemed pretty knowledgeable about solar and answered my questions I had at the time. I told him I would require a few days so I could think it over, he would ask "what is holding me back?". That honestly shouldn't matter, if I want time, I should get time. He was supposed to contact me on 6/6/2022, but he never did.

Maybe this is because I was looking at it as an investment, which he said "if you look at it that way, you probably won't get it."

Another issue, they are not sure enough panels can be put on my roof with vents and other items. Why would I have a credit check ran if I don't even know if a sufficient system will be possible. That's a credit hit, while minor, for something that may or may not be possible. Maybe put in the legwork upfront and...

Yesterday my partner and son were aggressively cornered by one of your neighborhood door knocker sales people. They were outside playing, and this person approached my family and would not let them enter the house or stop with the high pressure sales pitch. It is unfortunate that you label yourself as an Idaho based company and employ these tactics. I find this unacceptable and if you are looking for a company to do solar with I would definitely do my research and work with someone else!

I really wanted to like Idahome! I saw the reviews were fantastic, and they are a locally owned and operated company, which is great! Their sales team is super responsive and attentive to your needs. Zach was a cool sales rep who was understanding of my need to analyze the proposal before making a decision. Zach followed up as he said he would after a week, after which I had more questions. I started digging in to some of the claims and numbers that they use to convince you solar is a good deal. I sent an email with a few questions to Zach, to which he responded really thoroughly.

The problem is that they claim electric rates rise about 4% annually, and the entirety of their projections and proposal is built on this assumption. I was even quoted that rates had risen 8% in the last year. This makes it sound, on paper, like solar is a fantastic deal. The problem is that...
