HEW Fitness Woodstock

Coming back to the gym after having a baby and looking for a new gym family was very daunting. Thankfully, HEW Woodstock was recommended by a friend. After my first class I joined instantly. The coaches, community and kid friendly atmosphere sold me. There is no judgement at this gym. We are all there to sweat and have a good time. Such a happy hour of my day!

I grew up studying music. I wasn’t involved in sports or active stuff as much. I’ve always felt a little intimidated by gyms. Where do I start? Am I doing it right? What are other people thinking when they see me workout?
When my girlfriend invited me to HEW, it just felt right.

The coaches are super encouraging and engaging. And with that, they promote a safe, positive, and strengthening environment. You feel pushed to do better but not in a threatening way, both by the coaches and other people working out. The class-workout format makes you feel like you’re a part of something special. Such a positive community. Like, seriously. All different levels of skill are welcome. I’ve made so much progress just in the past five months!

Let me first start by saying, this gym saved me. It created a space in my life I didn’t know I needed so badly. Not only am I working towards my fitness goals (with love and support) but I’ve grown as a Hewman and continue to grow more and more. This isn’t just a gym, it’s a community and family. I’ve never felt this welcome, anywhere honestly. The coaches care and everyone that attends feel it. I often bring my kids and they love it! The coaches and people wouldn’t have it any other way. They love seeing their little faces light up with excitement and I love watching them trying to mimic me and and what I achieve in each class. Never in my life met this many amazing people and had this much hope for my future. I’m growing into a better and better version of myself daily. My husband joined one year ago and immediately loved the workouts, support, and especially the people. He worked so hard and had all the best support, encouragement, and guidance to see amazing results in one years time. I joined in July and had zero previous experience with these types of workouts and was so scared of the barbell. I never once felt alone! Every time I feel unsure or need guidance, someone is always there to not only teach me but to also make me feel like “Yes! I can do this!”

Beyond the workouts, this community pours into its members in every part of life. They have offered so many opportunities to better yourself, learn and grow, as well as give back to our wonderful community. We have made amazing friends that we are forever grateful for. This is way more than a gym! 💛

I’m not going to lie, I was very skeptical about attending my first class. I haven’t been to a gym in over a year and feel very out of shape. Everyone there from the owner, the coaches to the members made me feel welcome and encouraged me. That meant a lot to me. They encouraged me to scale back on some of the exercises if I didn’t think I was capable of doing them. I loved the feeling of community there. It felt like a close knit group, but not “clicky”. I am so sore (this is my 2nd day after the workout), but I am definitely looking forward to going back next week.

I’ll begin with how excited I was to come to this gym and loved it until I didn’t. I did not have the experience I saw everyone else having. I was excited to find a gym that would push me, help me reach goals, feel like a family, maybe make some friends, but most importantly that I was able to bring my kids. Every time I came and of course it was with my kids, I felt like a burden. They would have to help with them and even though they say kids are welcome it didn’t feel like mine were. How could I justify paying when I didn’t feel welcome? It honestly was such a disheartening feeling. Maybe I started at a bad time but still really no excuse to make someone feel that way who just wanted to better themselves and was already having a hard time loving themselves.

There are too many good things to say, but I’ll begin with the coaching staff. They always go above and beyond to keep you motivated and on track to fulfill your goals. They do such an incredible job of following everyone’s fitness progress no matter how big the classes are or how many other things are going on. They are truly the best people you’ll meet and they

The classes themselves are the perfect blend of fun and challenging. They keep you excited for the next one, which I can truly say I have never experienced elsewhere.

Lastly, the community that has been created at this gym is also something you’ll never experience anywhere else. You’ll be part of a close knit family with like-minded individuals very quickly, and there are many out-of-gym recreational events that really push this along. John, Christina, Meghan and their staff of trainers are simply phenomenal. They’re motivated to help you achieve your fitness goals. Great workouts daily.

Workouts are spaced throughout the day; morning, noon and evening so even the busiest schedules can still find the time.

I’ve attended HEW since they opened about a year ago. I’m very thankful they’ve come to town.

The “CHEERS” of fitness in Towne Lake where everyone knows your name and they’re genuinely happy to see you when you walk in the door.

The staff, and great clients that attend, create a supportive atmosphere that will make you want to break a healthy sweat. It’s a total community team effort at HEW; one that you’ll will enjoy being apart of.

The Hew Crew is awesome! Starting with the coaching they are incredible at teaching the barbell movements for all levels! The workouts are challenging, but scalable for all levels.
