Field of Dreams Movie Site

On a trip between Denver and Milwaukee and we were interested in stopping to see roadside attractions (and getting out of the car to stretch our legs). We are avid movie goers so when I saw this "free to visit" movie site I thought it would be a great stop. It was easy to find (especially with GPS) and at the end of the entrance to the parking lot a woman at a booth told us there were tours available, a gift shop on sight, suggested we buy a hot dog close to the ballfield before we left, handed us a bumper sticker and said the suggested donation was $20 to visit. I have to say I was taken back at her statement because the websit clearly stated the stop was FREE. While I understand donations are needed for maintenance and upkeep of facilities, nowhere did it state on the website that donations would be appreciated. A little heads up would've been appreciated before we made...

Definitely a must stop for any baseball fan.

Beautiful and lots of nostalgia! My family and I had a lovely time enjoying the gift shop, snack bar, and of course the field!

If you're a fan of the movie you will find what has been done to the site to be a travesty. The MLB influence and advertising is heavy.

Ok, so this was neat to see, but the cost of the tour is crazy for a family of six just making a stop along our travels. Their plans to expand the fields in this area seems like they will ruin the quaintness of this small town. Overall the site is very touristy.
