Played a fast-pitch game here under the lights. It was fun, but there were a few things I'd work on if I ran this joint. The lights are no good. Very low and very yellow. Great for atmosphere and ambiance, but horrible for playing actual games. The real concern though is no fence to protect fans, and bleachers that are very much in line-drive foul ball territory. We had an elderly woman take a line-drive off her shin and another liner missed a fans head by less than a foot. I fear that it's only a matter of time before someone gets seriously hurt and the FOD operators will be in for a world of legal troubles. I've heard that they don't want to muddy up the aesthetic of the movie site, but they've got vending machines and outhouses on site, so I think we can all agree that that ship has sailed. Put up a fence/net to protect not only fans, but the whole business. Read more >

This place was the only reason I visited Iowa and the only place there that I had to give my debit card to someone instead of swiping it myself. Two days after I returned home, my bank notified me that someone was still using my card.

It is a must do if you've seen the movie. Leave a donation in support of maintaining the site. It looks just like the movie and we were lucky enough to see it with the corn grown and kids playing a game on the field. We heard there is a ghost team that played that Saturday but we couldn't attend. Climb the bleachers to see the heart carved by Kevin Costner. Tour the house if you can. Definitely waves of emotion to see the site, remember the purpose of the movie and be present there. Read more >
