I joined Dragon Gym and the Muay Thai program about 4 years ago. I absolutely love this place! its a very old school gym. Lonnie is an amazing Coach and overall great human being. I have learned mental philosophies there which are relevant in everyday life. It is not just about punching people in the face, although I would be lying if I said I didnt enjoy that part! I've been training taekwondo here for over two years. I started after sitting in the balcony for a year watching my son train in the children's class and thinking that I should be down on the mat as well. I was also so very impressed by the ownership of this gym and their commitment to excellence and customer that I wanted to become a part of the Dragon Gym family. My martial arts training has developed my stamina and conditioning, empowered me for potential self-defense situations, and challenged me to do more than I ever thought I could. Master Som is a masterful teacher, breaking down skills and techniques in a way that makes it easy for me to learn and imitate. I have participated the Kali Silat and Muay Thai programs and could not be happier with the sense of camaraderie, discipline and fun inherent in Dragon Gym's culture. Hands down the best martial arts gym I have seen. The friendly atmosphere, welcoming people and motivation is great.
I'm in the Dragon Gym Muay Thai group, and I can easily say the Muay Thai program, taught by instructor Lonnie Beck is phenomenal. I came in nervous and confused, and in a couple weeks I felt right at home, learning with people of all levels experience. 7 months later, I find myself welcoming and passing on what I know to new students. I joined Dragon Gym with no martial arts background in January. I've always wanted to learn some form of martial arts but never had the time or money. In any case I was growing bored of the standard gym grind and wanted to find something that was more fun. My cousin encouraged me to attend the MuayThai Boxing classes. I signed up for Thai boxing trial which includes 4 classes and a pair of boxing gloves (specifically - bag gloves) which are yours to keep.

Now, as a beginner, I was nervous. Who wouldn't be? I was way out of my comfort zone, but I was getting a solid work out and I was having fun. Additionally, the instructor's and other gym members were extremely positive and supportive. As my trial expired there was no doubt in my mind that I wanted to continue my membership.
