CONFESSION: My credit was jacked up by family members. Now I’m not going to expose names because this post is not about putting down the family members but to build up My Loved Ones who may have suffered in similar situations. This is “MY” experience without holding anything back: A family member wrote back checks in my name that later caused me to be denied employment in the year of 2011 AND the negative balances showed up on my credit report. A family member got traffic tickets and hospital bills in my name, which showed up on my credit report. Another family member got a Fingerhut account in my name and never paid it which showed up on my credit report.
