College Ready

College Ready has been a great experience for our daughter Taylor and our family. It helped us develop a strategic approach, helping Taylor stand out from the competitive crowd, getting accepted from all seven of the colleges that she applied to, and receiving scholarships from six of the seven schools. This exceeded our expectation. Thank you Shellee, Michelle, and Kristine.

Shellee was prompt in scheduling our discovery call, which was impressive and showed her commitment to helping us. During the discovery call, she took the time to understand my dughter’s academic strengths, interests, and career aspirations. She explained some of the application process, suggested various community service initiatives and extracurricular activities that could enhance my daughter’s application and offered guidance on essays. Overall we left the call with a sense of direction, which relieved a lot of our anxiety about college applications.

I just want to say how thankful we are we signed up our son with you! You’re simply magnificent! You do a million plus things for your students! My husband and I the other day was just in awe watching the “vault” video! You really go above and beyond with everything you’ve been doing for your students. when I say YOU ARE SIMPLY THE BEST, I’m not exaggerating!! Forever grateful and worth every penny!!! I mean that!!

Shellee and her team has been great to work with! They have a wealth of knowledge and we are excited to be working with them over the next 5 or so years, with our son who is currently in 8th grade. I highly recommend if you are looking for a College Ready Coach!!!

Shellee at College Ready promised help with reducing college costs - and charged us for the service - but did not deliver on this part of their promise. The excuse she LATER cited was that we were applying to the wrong colleges (State and UC) and that because those colleges are "not generous" there was apparently no point in pursuing scholarships of any kind.

One problem with this argument was that it never came up during her "discovery meeting". If it was important enough to later deny us services, then it should it have been asked up front.

Alternatively, she could have refunded us half our money.

I recommend all readers ignore all 5-star and 1-star reviews. I gave her 2 stars because the help we received with admissions applications was decent, BUT we turned down other consultants because they didn't make the same pitch...

Shellee Howard is fabulous! She brings a holistic approach to the transition to college for both students and their parents. She really "gets it"!

Shellee Howard is a professional who knows her job well and can establish a good bond between the student and her advisor after her talk with you. Our advisor, Ms. Debra (Advisor), with her expertise and experience, helped us identify the right universities to match my daughter's interests. She also gave detailed information about university applications and success scholarships.

Their guidance allowed us to follow the right steps to streamline the application process. It's impossible for very busy parents to easily keep track of their dates, processes and to-do lists! We often overlook this process. But they...

College ready was an excellent resource for our daughter. Very professional worked on a one to one basis with her on building her resume and providing excellent feedback on her essays. We would recommend without any reservation.
