My sister went blind the same week I was diagnosed with eye cancer. While we knew she was getting cataracts, the sudden loss of sight was especially hard for her as she couldn't find the bathroom, dress herself, feed herself or any everyday activities. We went to Cohen Eye Institute. Dr Cohen came in and looked at her and said her cataracts were very bad. But instead of giving me a three month window to wait for surgery (like other eye drs), they fit her in within three weeks. Last week he fixed her first eye and as soon as they took the patch off she could see! I know he changes everyone's life with this surgery, but that's an understatement of a million magnitude! She's 74, mentally and physically disabled and her isolation was taking it's toll on her.
