Chubby Trout

Extremely hungry and from out of town, all of the locals told me we had to come to Chubby Trout. The food was absolutely amazing, and Amanda the Manager is sweet as pie. If you want an experience, this is the place to be.

Great food and atmosphere

There are 3 really good things about the Chubby Trout that are AMAZING: beer menu, the food, and it's relative distance to the hotel I stay at in Elkhart. I have been there twice and have never been let down. Beer list is second to none that I've experienced. Lots of great choices in every style. The sushi was incredibly fresh and on par with many more expensive sushi places I've been to. Calamari fingers revealed how calamari should be prepared. Portions were plentiful and service was super fast on busy night. If I had to nit-pick, I'd say that the place was busy on a Wednesday night and we had to wait 20 mins for a table... But in this situation it is unavoidable and a sign of how well loved the Trout is locally.

Wow, what a great local eatery and brewery! I had a stout that tasted EXACTLY like Neapolitan ice cream - Saugatuck Stout. Friendly service, and I loved that the women’s rest room had a bunch of scented lotions to use. What a nice touch! Try that stout if you have a sweet tooth!
