Our waitress was Amanda A. Who was very knowledgeable and very friendly and made our dining experience excellent our favorite menu item is the smoked prime rib always excellent and we try not to miss it.

I was excited about this menu and the reviews so we made a special trip from home, about 40 minutes away. I'm not sure what the difference was the day we came (2 ish on a Saturday) but the sushi was awful. It was small and rolled very poorly and the flavor was awful. Mushy. It did not taste fresh and I did not eat either of the two rolls I ordered.
Our appetizer..... the loaded potato fingers was decent. It was a little over Salted and slightly undercooked.
My partners chicken sandwich was good.
Our service was not very attentive.
Chose to sit in dining area but it was still extremely noisy from the bar area the way the noise in general there moves. Not a place for good discussion or relaxing.

Cam & Sue have a gem of a restaurant (one of many) here on the north side of Elkhart. Chubby Trout has consistently been a quality perveor of food and service for over a decade. The staff has been helpful, considerate, as well as professional. Recently we had Katelin who has been hostess, but recently turned server. She is great!

Can't go wrong with the sushi, fish tacos, salmon and rice, salads or burgers. Sue sue shrimp is also to die for! Check out their daily specials as well as the chef is always cooking up something tasty to try!
