Chubby Trout

Yup. Loved it. It's always a good idea to go into any seafood restaurant in indiana with some skepticism. Not needed here. This place in great. We had apps and a sushi boat. It was all very good and I'm want to go back to try more on the menu. The drink selection is good. Our server was amazing. I highly recommend. One down side was how busy it was. It took some time to get seated.

My husband and I recently visited Elkhart, Indiana and stopped at the Chubby Trout for early dinner. The food was delicious and the service was top rate. They have a large selection of craft beers and I had mentioned to our waiter , Tanner, that I wish I could find a beer that I liked but that I was more of a wine drinker. He suggested two different beers with a fruity base and even brought me a sample of each. I really appreciated his effort to assist me! Unfortunately, I just don’t think I’ll ever be a beer enthusiast! Thanks for trying!! Great place to visit in Elkhart!

The inside has a rustic atmosphere which is well done. The food is remarkably good from the sushi roll (Red Dragon) to the soup (Crabcake Bisque) to the fried fish (Striped Basket) and (Grouper Basket).

The fries are wonderfully crispy and served in a wire basket so that they stay that way.

The service was fast, friendly, and pleasantly helpful.

Great food and reasonable portion sizes!
