We had a really positive experience at Brain Balance. We came to Brain Balance after our son attended several months of Play Therapy, which only seemed to make his aggression and outbursts worse. We suspected our son was PDA and had read that primitive reflux integration can help with the nervous system, but could not change the way his brain works. I would say we got just that out of this program. Although I was hoping it would do more, it did help with his sensitivity to sound, tags, etc. Our son was diagnosed Autistic with ADHD with a PDA profile from a psychologist at a different practice. I took my daughter to Brain Balance and from the moment we walked in, she felt comfortable and welcomed. The atmosphere was wonderful, and Remi played a huge role in making us feel at ease. She gave us a thorough tour, answered all of our questions, and explained everything in a way that made me feel confident and excited about moving forward. We honestly didn’t know what to expect when we first started at Brain Balance. In the beginning of the program, there were definitely ups and downs, and at times we questioned whether it was really working. But over time, we started seeing meaningful improvements in our child.

One of his biggest struggles was adjusting to new environments and group settings. He disliked group extracurricular activities, often came home from school exhausted and overwhelmed (even though he was doing well academically), and was frequently moody in the mornings and before bedtime. There were times he would sit in the car crying and refuse to get out before a new tennis group lesson. He completely skipped his first soccer game, standing on the sidelines refusing to play. There were also many times we practically had to drag him out of the car for a new summer camp or activity.

I am so grateful for Emma and the team at Brain Balance. Today, we have a different kid than we did 2 years ago. Our son was starting high school and there were so many developmental gaps, I couldn't see him succeeding in school on his own. This month, he finished his sophomore year on the A/B honor roll with no medication. To watch him grow and heal and thrive has been one of the greatest gifts. The team at Brain Balance heard me in my struggles, saw my kid, knew how to help him and gave us a better life. The struggles of parenting have lessened greatly - we parent through the normal issues of teenagers now instead of dreading what battles we have to fight. We’ve had such a positive experience with the Brain Balance of Allen team. From the beginning, they took a thoughtful, whole-child approach to supporting our son’s attention challenges, and that made a huge difference for our family.

One of the biggest changes we’ve seen is in his confidence. He’s more willing to try, less easily frustrated, and carries himself with a sense of pride that just wasn’t there before. That shift alone has been incredibly meaningful.

Brain balance has been amazing for our family. My son was non verbal autism before beginning brain balance. Dr Robert Melillo’s work and the Brain Balance center have been instrumental in helping my son begin to speak, no longer walk on his toes, looking at us and playing with the family once again. Their exercises to help my son progress are easy to do at home and track his progress. My son loves going there and working with the staff. All are incredibly helpful and are able to answer my questions. They have great nutritionist to help assist with changing things in my sons diet as well as many resource suggestions to learn more about the melilo method.
