The Learning Tree South

The Learning Tree in Howell has been a great place for our kids. Miss Julie in the Toddler room is wonderful. She is always very patient and kind, and my son loves her. Sometimes he doesn't like to see me leave, but Miss Julie is able to get him calm and effectively redirect him. Miss Halley is also so caring and just wonderful with all the kids. When my son wasn't yet diagnosed with asthma and was having breathing difficulties, she was so caring with him that I was really thankful to have her taking care of my son. And she helped settle my fears during what was a scary time. Everyone there is wonderful and I'm very happy that we found this place and have our children there.

We recently moved our daughter up to full time at The Learning Tree, and it's been great! We loved Miss Tonya in the TPS classroom and now we adore Miss Heather & Jennifer in the Pre-school program. Miss Heather, especially, is very enthusiastic and seems to truly enjoy her job!

As a mom, I cannot move on from this experience and not be vocal about it. Things did not start off well from the get-go. On the third day, our child was moved from the Preschool room to the transistion preschool room because she was afraid of their auto flush toilets. The TPS room is for potty-training. I was not told that that room did not have a lead teacher in there. There was one younger girl, who literally started the week before my daughter. Needless to say, she was overwhelmed with 8 kids to herself in a class where potty training was the main focus. During this time, our daughter started to have tantrums from all of the changes, and I was called almost daily it felt like and asked "what do I do with her at home." I offered suggestions, but with us not having these issues at home, I merely thought that the teachers needed to come up with methods that would...

I love my daughters teacher Ms. Chelsea. My daughter started in Feb. and already I've noticed some big improvements. Ms. Chelsea is very welcoming and is always smiling. That's a big comfort because you know she loves her job. I visited other centers and I couldn't send my daughter there especially because the teachers looked like they didn't like their job. Ms. Chelsea teaches the preschool 2 class and I couldn't have asked for a better teacher. She is very patient with the kids. She doesn't mind answering any questions or concerns about your child etc. When my daughter first started i would call several times a day to check on her and she took pictures and did anything she could to help me feel at ease. She also tells me what my child ate or didn't eat that day. I can put sooo much more but I'm afraid it'll be too long no one would read it so to some up everything. I love my...

After almost 8 years (longer than any other family, staff member or director has been with them) we were informed with 4 weeks notice that they would no longer allow us flexible scheduling ( Monday and Friday one week, Monday, Thursday, Friday the next then repeat every two weeks. So really part time rather than "flexible") for summer day camp. Had an outstanding balance of about $90 owed to us which they would not agree to refund without having me speak to the regional director. Really put us in a tough spot and they could not care less. Good for back up care during the school year but little else. Staff turn over is ridiculously high.

We transitioned our son to The Learning Tree in January 2014 when he was 8 months old. He has been in the infant room where Miss Stacy is one of the the assistant teachers. During our transition, I remember that she would hold him in the mornings and talk and play with him when I dropped him off. She was very good at making him feel comfortable - which made me feel comfortable as well. When I see my son with Miss Stacy, I can see that he truly loves her. His face lights up when he sees her and it makes me so happy. Miss Stacy also makes learning fun as she helps to introduce new things everyday. As our son continues to develop, we are pleased to see that he comes home each day saying new words, making new animal sounds, and reaching milestones of all kinds. We took our 21 month old son there for his first ever experience at Daycare. We ended up taking two tours because the person who did our first tour was new and there were some questions left unanswered. We were impressed with the facility and it seemed like a nice place.

Our first day was a hard drop off because he had never been left anywhere before and we were upset for him but understood that it was normal and that children tend to calm down after a while and are fine. However when we picked him up he was angry and came home and started throwing a fit and hitting our dogs. (Which he never has done) He also sat down at his little table and chairs and laid his head down and continued acting out all evening and ate like he got no food all day. He was just not acting like our little boy whatsoever.
