We were referred to Alcala for grooming our dog. The grooming was good and I recommend it. But the training program was a pleasantly amazing surprise. We worked with Matt Montes, canine behaviorist and trainer. At the first meeting we could see that Matt was observing, reading, assessing the dog and truly thinking about it. Matt is knowledgeable, experienced, patient, and compassionate to both dog and human. He really wants to help. The other part of the equation is the wonderful Alcala facility. I believe we needed a facility that provided safe, non-public (meaning: no random loose dogs intervening), neutral ground for assessment and exercises. Friendly caring staff. Reasonable rates for dog boarding. Nice facilities. For a fully honest review, I would need my dog to contribute his opinion, but as far as I can tell he does ok here when he has to be boarded. Read more >
