I would give 10 stars if I could. World Champions Alpha Krav Maga is not just another karate studio. They teach Israeli military style self-defensive. It is a combination of various forms of martial arts. Master Edmondson and his highly qualified coaching staff not only teach the how and whys of defensive techniques, but making sure everyone does them correctly. For me, it all started about a 1-1/2 years ago. I did my research, months in advance because my grandson wanted to get involved in martial arts. World Champions Alpha Krav Maga is by far the best martial arts studio around, hands down. I had sat in on many classes watching and analyzing. The children and young adults develop self-confidence and learn discipline and respect. I liked it so much, that at the very young age of 65 (yes I said that correctly), I decided to try the adult classes. I like it so much that is has become a part of my everyday life. We have so much fun learning. I don’t see myself letting up. Taking classes with Master Edmondson has increased my self-esteem, self-confidence, and my motivation is at an all-time high. It is helping stay mentally sharp and keeping me in shape so I can enjoy my grandchildren. If you have any doubts, I highly recommend giving Alpha Krav Maga a try and find out for yourself. You’ll be glad you did.
Head Coach Joseph Edmondson is a highly skilled, professional martial artist who takes great pride in being an Alpha leader. His school location is convenient, well equipped and offers a variety of classes for families and individuals. If you are looking for a place to train and learn valuable self-defense skills, start here.
We wanted our teenage daughters to gain skills in self defense, but the increased self confidence they have gained as a part of their experience has been invaluable. A great program we couldn't recommend high enough.
Not just another belt factory! Krav Maga is a well rounded martial art that captures functional aspects of various disciplines. Coach Joe is a no-nonsense, yet fun, instructor. Isaiah is no slouch and is always patient. World Champions is molding our son into a person who will be more than capable of handling himself, if the time ever comes!!
Great workout, great place, great coaches. In the beginning, I thought I was just gonna do my 5 classes with the Groupon and be done, didn’t think I’d continue; but here I am 6 months later kicking butt and really enjoying it.
As a Krav Maga practitioner for over ten years, I am impressed with the professionalism in which World Champions Alpha Krav Maga is operated. I would highly recommend this school to anyone looking to get involved in a school dedicated to the growth of their students! Mr. Edmondson is an amazing Instructor and mentor.
Everyone here is amazing! They are so friendly and non judgmental, but also take what they do very seriously. I love that if you are struggling to get a move down or if there is something you just don't understand they take the time to work with you!
Great place to get in shape and learn kickboxing, Muay Thai and Krav Maga . You should try it out!
I love this class. I am learning and getting exercise at the same time. Coach Edmonson is awesome.
Beautiful gym, great equipment, fantastic staff that goes out of their way to please their customers and to take care of their needs. Another one like all other of the Alpha's KMI schools that put the customers first and make it such a positive and motivational school, I highly recommend to people who wants to learn martial art in Arizona to go and check it themselves.
Both our sons attend and we can't say enough about the transformation we've seen. Highly recommended
Since the first day my son stepped in Master Edmondson's World Champions Training Center, he felt confident that this was the place he wanted to be training to achieve Black Belt! Everyone is so positive but yet serious about teaching the proper techniques. Every week he looks forward to training.
I started writing this review in my head over two months ago. For those of you who are just looking for the bottom line: it’s all good. Check out a class, love it, rinse, repeat. For the rest of us, read on… I found World Champions through Groupon. I had driven past the studio a million times (it’s right next to the Peter Piper Pizza at Williams Field and Gilbert), but assumed it was for “karate people” only and never gave it a second thought. BUT, when I saw the crazy good special they were running (20 kids classes with a uniform for $35 or 10 adult kickboxing classes for $29), Groupon enthusiast I am, I simply could not pass up. I started with the kids’ Groupon for my 3.5 year old son and later got the kickboxing one for myself. I called the number on the Groupon and spoke with Joseph (Master Edmondson/Coach), the owner. He was friendly and easy to talk to and we set up a first class time for my little guy. The center offers classes for kids starting at age 3 in the morning and afternoon. Now, I’m not hardcore about martial arts by any means; I was just looking for something for my sensory-seeking junior Tigger to burn off some energy and learn some classroom type skills to help him prepare for preschool. This place fit the bill, so I went with it. The first (and second, and third…) class was amazing! Coach worked with my son one on one, explaining things in a way that made sense to a 3 year old, encouraging him throughout the class, and just having fun – all the while instilling valuable skills (following directions, showing respect), and doing a combination of exercises that set the foundation for martial arts (Think “Wax on, wax off”), as well as the “real” martial arts stuff. After watching my son in two of the kids’ Tae Kwon Do classes, I bought the adult kickboxing Groupon for myself. I said earlier that I’m not hardcore about martial arts. Let me expand on that: I do not exercise. Or at least didn’t prior to World Champions. I had tried just about everything, though: Jazzercise, Zumba, barre, yoga, most of the Les Mills group classes, you get the idea. Most of the time, I could barely get through the class. And afterwards I’d feel even worse. So, when I decided to try the kickboxing class, my expectation was that I’d fall flat on my face about 2 minutes in to the class (because I didn’t kick, and I definitely didn’t box – how long could I realistically expect to last!?). What I found, however, was so different than all of the other exercise experiences I’ve had. There was no shame, no condescending looks or attitudes from anyone; it was the most positive and supporting exercise experience I had ever had. AND…I made it all the way through the hour-long class! (WHAT?!) I felt invincible afterwards! Well, invincible with a side of sore muscles that I didn’t know I had. I went twice a week, loving the new beginning of my day routine. Each class was different; every time I learned something new. My goal for attending classes at World Champions was to feel healthy. Within the first week, I wasn’t winded after going up stairs. After my second week, I had lost 10 pounds (without changing my diet at all), and could see that my body shape was beginning to change – slimming down my shoulders, and shaping my upper body so that clothes were fitting differently! These days (2 months later), I’m able to push myself much further during my workout and have more energy during the day. I feel more confident – for doing something hard and sticking with it, and for being able to see real body change because of it. When I watch my favorite mindless action shows now, I’m geeking out seeing all of the moves I’ve learned and processing how I would do the new ones I see. There is so much more that I could write about World Champions, but I encourage you to check it out for yourself. There is usually some kind of deal going on – whether it’s a trial through the center, Yelp credits, or Groupon. The staff and students there are fun, helpful, and encouraging – and skilled in their craft! It will be the last place you need to look. It was for me.
This place is great they have teachers that are right there and they teach you these moves that could one day save your life I've used some of these techniques in self defense to save my life. I've had a couple of people try to stab me but the moves I've learned and practiced here have saved my life so if I never went here I probably would be dead so I believe you should give this place a try you will like it
Love the variety of styles we learn from very qualified coaches. I hated going to the gym and running but wanted something to keep me active and or of the house a few times a week. I did some research and have this place a shot. 4 months into it and have no regrets! I look forward to class and have even made friends!
My 3 year old daughter loves going to class. The instructors are very patient and they know how to provide instructions while keeping it fun.
My 4 yr old son loves the time he spends there and his instructors. He enjoys showing off what he has learned and it is helping with his patience and focus. Thank you!
This is a wonderful place, I have my 4 kids (9,7,7,5) coming here and they love it . We started with the summer camp thinking it would be something different with no intention to do TKD full time, and everyone fell in love with it, even my girly girls who had no desire to do martial arts :). They really encourage my kids to do their best and stay confident while still maintaining the discipline of a martial art class. It is amazing to watch them progress, I couldn't be happier with our experience here.
I have never felt so confident and strong. I love these classes and learn things every class. Every class is different and I enjoy every minute. It is a great workout, and a great way to learn some practical defense!
Bought the Groupon for our son and he loved camp so much that we signed him up for classes. Today was his first real class and he LOVED it!! I really like that in order to move up in belts the student must have a parent and teacher sign a form saying they are doing their work and handing in their work at school and respecting at home. I've never heard of that in any other karate school. We are really looking forward to seeing how far our son goes in this! It's awesome to see him excited in more then minecraft, lol. Thank you master Joe for all of your hard work!!
We have three kids attending the summer camp and all three really enjoy Master Edmondson's Training Center. After a day at camp they describe the fun activities, martial arts, and the new friends they have discovered. We initially decided to try Master Edmondson's Summer Camp due to the boys having interest in martial arts. We were nervous about making a commitment with them being so young and the camp offered an introduction over summer. After a few weeks of seeing all the enthusiasm and smiles, the camp was the perfect introduction to a new adventure in martial arts, not just for the kids but likely the whole family. Thank you Master Edmondson and team!
